Bridport-based engineering company proud finalist of Plastics Industry Awards 2012.

Dorset-based AAVPD Ltd, an engineering and injection moulding company, was recently chosen as a finalist in the Plastics Industry Awards 2012. Having been nominated for their Tigrox banner barrier system in the Industrial Product Design of the Year category, AAVPD Ltd, and the Tigrox product, was very proud to be selected as one of 6 finalists in this year’s prestigious event held in London on the 28th September.
AAVPD Ltd’s founder and inventor, Laurence Wettern, recognised a clear need in the crowd barrier industry around the world, and formulated the Tigrox system – a wide, four-colour, double-sided, digitally printed tape barrier system. Only released early this year at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Vienna, the Tigrox product is already being used across a number of industries both in the UK, as well as outside of the UK.
The Tigrox system is made up of a combination of posts and banners. The posts, which are all tooled, moulded and assembled at the factory in Bridport, are equipped with a patented spring and roll-up mechanism allowing the interchangeable banner to be extended as frequently as required and exchanged for another banner when needed. Â Serving as both a promotional as well as crowd management tool, the Tigrox product caters for a number of business needs in a number of different industries.
Known as the Oscars of the UK plastic industry, the Plastics Industry Awards offer an insight into current developments in materials usage, product design and innovative manufacturing as well as identifying excellence in training and environmental performance. AAVPD Ltd, and Tigrox, are proud to be associated with such a prestigious event and moreover to serve as representatives of the engineering industry in the South West in the production of top class products.
